WIP
I finished that knitted shawl/blanket a week ago and started a crocheted shawl. I've made a lot of progress on it, but I am a much faster at crochet. I am using Lion Brand's Homespun in Sierra. It is super soft and cushy.
I've just learned of a new technique for making knitted shawls... short rows (see Spring 2009 issue of Interweave Knits). (cue angel chorus epiphany music) I had thought of use short rows to make hats, but never went past the initial thought, maybe someone out there will figure it out. But this was genius.... I hope to start working with this technique shortly (no pun intended). It requires math but I can do that... well at least the basics.

Pole Dancers
I am competing in a pole dancing competition... Utah First (Fetish: Battle of the Pole Dancers)
I am very excited about it, but then here comes the controversy:
I am amazed at how uniformed people are. I hope I am give the opportunity to speak my piece.

Why must they discontinue?
If you don't know by know I Love yarn. I am 100% fiber lover. I always have at knitting or crochet project going (sometimes both at the same time), and picked up some new yarn recently (Mon, March 9 exactly.. don't ask me why I remember this stuff) at my local Robert's for a later project. I'm short a few skeins, which doesn't bother me... that's what the internet is for. So today, I jump online eagerly to scope out the best deal on the remaining yarn I need for the project when to my mild horror.... it's discontinued and every search for the yarn I try yields NOTHING! Tomorrow, I am going to go to Robert's and buy the last of what they got for that yarn.. no matter the color (for the most part) I make a stripe project is stead of a solid color... and if they're out.... To Ebay!

Spring = Hope
I finally sold something at the gift shop that I have been paying booth rent on for the past 3 months. Hooray! It's vindicating in a way. I'm not crazy. People do want quality handmade items. Also, the shop (Renie's House 835 N. Main St. Sunset, Ut 84015) is taking part is an Arts and Crafts Fair (I believe this is it: Simple Treasures). So come if you can.

Updates
These are 6 more art works by me. I have 2 works in progress:
And here is a sneak peak of the newest knitted item.
I used Sensations Boucle from Joann's. It started out an shawl, then became an oversized shawl, but now it is approaching the size of a small throw. I think that's my style when it comes to shawls... oversized. I believe it's because excess tends to equal luxury and handmade items are a luxury in a market of mass production. But then again maybe it's mt artistic side that just wants to make something beautiful... something you want to show off, display..... hmmm... that gives me an idea. I'll get back to you on that. But I've made a goal for myself to wear something I've made whenever I go out to very public places like this last tattoo convention and car shows. I've actually been doing pretty good about it, and the Autorama is coming up soon... I think.. I have to look it up next ( Mar 27-29 ). I'm already trying to decide what item I'm going to wear.I do also care about else I'm going to wear.... oh maybe I'll have new sneakers by then!
I've been thinking that for the next laptop I get I want a Mac and only becaue I want the Vector Design program. I want to make symbol craft charts for crochet so I can publish pattersn for the motifs I love to design. I'm not so good at writing the patterns down. Also, I firmly believe in the universality (is that a word? if not it should be) of symbols. And I want Vector Design because I doubt I'll need anything as complicated or detailed as Adobe or Archicad.
On another note, I'm hoping to sell some simple scarf patterns for both knit and crochet on Etsy. Beginner to intermediate level, so keep an eye out for them at AquariusArt.etsy.com . I'm still revamping my store in the sense of solidifying what I'm going to offer and such.
I need to be more adamant about my ravelry account.. that I have been severely neglecting (will start amends today).
At any rate... I believe I have rambled enough. So I'm off to ravelry.
